On a summer day up in Michigan, my son was warming up after a swim and I took some photos as I was drawn to the low light and warm colors of the towel. It was my goal to push the painting towards two main values to highlight the monolithic shape and bring strong contrast to the warm light. My favorite part, color wise, is the Cerulean in the lake and the way it complements the warm red in the towel.
