This is a plein air study done at my favorite plein air painting area in the Sierra Nevada Mountains near Lake Tahoe California known as Hope Valley. The scene is looking southwest on the West Fork of the Carson River near Highway 88. This location on the river, because of its direction of flow and amazing beauty, makes for an outstanding painting in all seasons of the year.
