Keep Your Spirits High

This painting is largely inspired by my own intense, visceral feelings created by an increasingly warming planet. It is a reflection of my own self-awareness as I exist in the world around me, and utilizes elements of moss, overgrowth, mycology, and surrealism to create the subjects as I see them in this world. I wanted to capture the similar kind of reactions of other non-human lifeforms on the planet as well. The effect and intention are meant to be inspiring rather than nihilistic regarding how nature transforms through periods of climate change.
