Highway 501 sunset
Highway 501, Acrylic on cradle wood. I was returning home after attending a workshop with Larry Moore in Charleston, South Carolina when I saw this sunset/post sunset on Highway 501 close to my house in Myrtle Beach. I immediately took a photo of the scene from my car while driving. I later looked at the photo many times and then many a sunsets I passed the same spot which is my daily way during sunset but I never had the courage to paint this scene until early this year when I got covid. I was stuck at home and missing all the delightful sunsets when I again pulled out this photo. I don't know how my fear vanished and the next thing I knew I was transported to that scene and did this painting in acrylics. I was pretty exhausted standing and painting. This later followed with a covid relapse but I didn't mind because I had achieved to overcome my fear of painting this scene which hovered in my mind the whole time.
