Alice Falls Feel the Power of Water

Painted totally plein air with a limited pallet on canvas board. Inspiration for this painting was for me the awe and power of water. Located on the Ausable River in Keeseville,NY the rain has been abundant this summer and the falls was thundering with almost too much water to handle. It was difficult to catch the ripples of water cascading but it was a wonderful experience to feel the cooling spray and to hear the falls hitting the rocks in a beautiful dance of water. Hazy from Canadian smoke also made an interesting atmosphere.
