I grew up on a farm and have lived-until recently-in a farming community. I am inspired by rural scenes and love the busyness of harvest and the beauty of the fall season. I like to paint thickly so I enjoyed painting the thick corn furrows. I also thought it would be fun to paint the thick cloud of corn dust that always surrounds the combine, so I had to wait until the painting was completely dry to dry brush it on.
