Provo River Tailout

Provo River Tailout, Water
Provo River Tailout
This watercolor was painted from an oil painting field study that I did on location in the Unita National Forest in Utah. I'm always fascinated by the way rivers surge over tail outs and then back up creating pools which become holding areas for trout. The fish will linger near the beginning of the tail out waiting for insects that get dislodged and drift through the pool.
