I painted this while participating in the Adirondack Plein Air Festival. There is a bog right by the Paul Smith's Visitor Information Center in the Adirondacks that just inspired me to stop and paint. The bog had lots of quiet life. There was a stillness that seemed serene, yet there was so much buzzing around. The air was getting heavy with a storm approaching, yet the bog was still. I wanted to capture the feeling of that special peacefulness.
