My Skirt, My Choice

Part of the "Don't Skirt" series, this painting refers to the #handsoffmyhijab hashtag, stressing the importance of personal freedom. Legislating women's bodies to solve political problems is rooted in Sexism and, in this case, Islamophobia. A right taken away from any woman is a right taken away from all women, as in the end, we all wear the same skirt.
